In February 2004, I arrived for a long stay in the Italian town of Umbertide, which would be my homebase thru May. During my three months, I walked around Umbria with occasional excursions outside Umbria, to Rome and elsewhere.
The more interesting entries are on darker backgrounds.

I leave Chicago for Umbria: preparations and departure flight.

Arrival at Rome airport and train trip to Umbertide.

My first full day in Umbria: I explore my home base, the town of Umbertide.

Train trip to Trevi (Umbria); brief visit of a church at Ponte S. Giovanni.

Reconnecting with the town of Trevi (Umbria) and with friends there. I attend a performance of something like Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

A walk near Umbertide, to Borgo Pulciano and beyond; the hamlet of Morávola.
