Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1835, to July 1, 1839, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 2d Dragoons, July 1, 1839. Served: on Recruiting service, 1839; in the Florida War, 1839‑40; on Recruiting service, 1840; in the Florida War, 1840‑41; on frontier (First Lieut., 2d Dragoons, Oct. 8, 1841) duty at Ft. Washita, I. T., 1842‑43, 1843, 1844‑45; in Military Occupation of Texas, 1845‑46; and in the War with Mexico, 1846‑47, being engaged in the Siege of Vera Cruz, Mar. 9‑29, — and Skirmish of Puente del Medio, Mar. 24, 1847. Died July 29, 1847, at Puebla, Mex. Aged 28. |
