Served: at the Cavalry School for Practice, Carlisle, Pa., 1840‑41;

in the Florida War against the Seminole Indians, 1841‑42, being engaged in the Capture of Halleck Tustennuggee's band, 1842; and in garrison at Baton Rouge, La., 1842‑43.
