Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1840, to July 1, 1844, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Bvt. Second Lieut., 1st Infantry, Aug. 20,º 1844. p200 Served: in garrison at Ft. Atkinson, Io., 1844‑45, — and Jefferson Barracks, Mo., 1845‑46; and in the War with Mexico, being (Second Lieut., 1st Infantry, June 18, 1846) engaged in the Battle of Monterey, Sep. 21, 1846, where he was Mortally Wounded by a 12‑pounder cannon ball, while storming the enemy's intrenchments. Died of Wounds, Sep. 27, 1846, at Monterey, Mex.: Aged 24. |
