Served: in the War with Mexico, 1847‑48, at Jalapa; in garrison at

(Second Lieut., 3d Artillery, Aug. 13, 1847)

Ft. Monroe, Va., 1848, — Ft. Sullivan, Me., 1848, — and Ft. Adams, R. I., 1848‑49; in conducting Recruits to Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., 1849; in Florida Hostilities against the Seminole Indians, 1849‑50; and in garrison at Ft. Adams, R. I., 1850‑51.

Resigned, July 21, 1851.

Civil History. — Agent for Patents, Washington, D. C., 1851‑61. Professor in a Military Institute at Chester, Pa., 1861 to 18–––.
