(First Lieut., 2d Infantry, Feb. 5, 1855)

Miller, Cal., 1853‑54; on Recruiting service, 1854; and on frontier duty on Sioux Expedition, 1855, — Ft. Pierre, Dak., 1855, — Farm Island, Missouri River, 1855‑56, — Ft. Lookout, Dak., 1856, — and Ft. Randall, Dak., 1856‑57.
