Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1852, to July 1, 1856, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Bvt. Second Lieut. of Infantry, July 1, 1856. Served: in garrison at Carlisle Barracks, Pa., 1856‑57; on frontier (Second Lieut., 9th Infantry, Sep. 10, 1856) duty at Ft. Simcoe, Wash., 1857‑59, — and Ft. Dalles, Or., 1859‑60; and on leave of absence, 1860‑61. Resigned, May 9, 1861. Died, Aug. 15, 1861, at Charlottesville, Va.: Aged 25. |
