Served during the Rebellion of the Seceding States, 1861‑63: on Recruiting

service, Sep. 6 to Oct. 9, 1861; as Adjutant, 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry, Oct. 21‑24, 1861; in command of Company at Ft. Preble, Me.,
