Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1860, to June 13, 1864, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

First Lieut.,º Corps of Engineers, June 13, 1864.

Served during the Rebellion of the Seceding States, 1864‑66: as Asst. Engineer in the Defenses of Washington, D. C., July 12‑21, 1864, being engaged in the Defense of the Capital, July 12, 1864, — in the construction of the Defenses of the Camp for Prisoners of War at Point Lookout, Md., July 21, 1864, to Feb. 20, 1865, — and in building the Fortifications of New York Harbor, Feb. 20 to Apr. 18, 1865.

Killed, Apr. 18, 1865, at Ft. Tompkins, N. Y.,
by the Accidental Discharge of a Musket: Aged 22.
