Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1873, to June 14, 1877, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

Second Lieut., 9th Cavalry, June 15, 1877.

Served: on frontier duty, Scouting in Idaho, June 30 to July 8, 1877, — and Nez Percés Expedition, July 12 to Oct. 8, 1877; awaiting orders, to Dec. 30, 1877; and on leave of absence, Dec. 30, 1877, to Mar. 1, 1878.

Resigned, Mar. 1, 1878.

Civil History. — Counselor at Law, San Francisco, Cal., 1880‑83. Lieut.‑Colonel, California Militia, 1881‑82.

Died, Feb. 8, 1883, at San Gabriel, Cal.:​b Aged 27.

Buried, Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland, CA.
