Served: At Fort Bayard, N. M., Oct. 1 to Dec., 1895; Fort Huachuca, Ariz., to March, 1896; Fort Grant, Ariz., to June, 1896; Fort Bayard, N. M., to Oct., 1896; Fort Douglas, Utah, Oct., 1896 to April  p596 20, 1898. — At Tampa, Fla., to June, 1898, and in the campaign against Santiago, Cuba, until mortally wounded in the assault on San Juan Hill, Cuba, July 1, 1898.

Died July 2, 1898,
in hospital near Santiago de Cuba,
from the effect of wounds received
at the battle of San Juan, July 1, 1898: Aged 24.
