Second Lieut. of Cavalry, 3d Cavalry, June 12, 1896) Served: In Department of the Colorado, Sept. 1 (Second Lieut. of Cavalry, 3d Cavalry, Sept. 9, 1896) to 14, 1896; Fort Wingate, N. M., Sept. 14, 1896 to April 19, 1898; at St. Louis, Jefferson Barracks, Mo. — In operations against Santiago de Cuba, April 19 to Aug. 14, 1898. — In Department of the East, Aug. 14, 1898 to Jan. 1, 1899. (First Lieut. of Cavalry, 1st Cavalry, Dec. 13, 1899) (Transferred to 4th Cavalry, Feb. 23, 1900) Served in the field in the Philippine Islands to Jan., 1901, when he was Killed, Jan. 18, 1901, while scouting near Ponaranda,a Luzon, P. I: Aged 30. Buried, Brooks Cemetery, Hedrick, IA. |
