Second Lieut., 3d Artillery, July 1, 1826. Served: at the Military Academy, 1826‑29, as Asst. Professor of Chemistry, Mineralogy, and Geology, Aug. 30, 1826, to Aug. 31, 1828, — and as Asst. Professor of Engineering, Aug. 31, 1828, to Aug. 31, 1829; and in garrison at Ft. Preble, Me., 1830‑31, — Ft. Moultrie, S. C., 1831‑32, — Ft. Monroe, Va., 1832‑34, — Ft. Mitchell, Ala., 1834, — and Ft. Brooke, Fla., 1834‑35. Resigned, Aug. 31, 1835. p366 Civil History. — Clergyman of the Protestant Episcopal Church, 1839‑46. Principal of Botetourt Academy, Va., 1845‑46. Died, Aug. 15, 1846, at Botetourt, Va.: Aged 42. |
