a1 a2 The identification is by no means certain, but the grave linked on this page bears a year of birth that is about right (a close look at the inscription shows it to be 1785 rather than the 1795 given in the transcription on the Find-a‑Grave page), and the location of the grave is not implausible. Among the seven other men by the same name listed at the same site (as of November 2017) several were born too late, and others died too late or are buried in less probable places.
