Civil History. — Asst. Engineer in the service of Pennsylvania, 1830‑35. Chief Engineer of Columbia and Philadelphia Railroad, Pa., 1835‑36. Resident Engineer in the service of the State of Kentucky, employed in making surveys and improving the navigation of the Cumberland and other Rivers, 1837‑39. Superintendent of construction of Dams, North Branch (of the Susquehannah) Division, Pennsylvania Canal, 1840‑41. Regulator of Weigh-Locks and Scales, on Pennsylvania Canals and Railroads, 1844‑45. Resident Engineer, Schuylkill Navigation, Pa., 1845‑46, — of Reading Railroad, Pa., 1846‑49, — of Bellefontaine and Indiana Railroad, O.,º 1849, — of Reading Railroad, Pa., 1850‑58, — and of the Lebanon Valley Branch of the Reading Railroad, Pa., 1858‑61.

Died, Dec. 18, 1861, at Pottstown, Pa.: Aged 55.

Buried, Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottstown, PA.
