Second Lieut., Corps of Engineers, Mar. 27, 1812.

Served: in the War of 1812‑15 with Great Britain, as Asst. Engineer

(First Lieut., Corps of Engineers, July 1, 1812)

on the defenses of New York harbor; and as Asst. Engineer in the construction

(Captain, Corps of Engineers, Sep. 17, 1814)

and repairs of the Fortifications in the Delaware, 1816‑17.

Resigned, Oct. 1, 1817.

Civil History. — Employed in the service of the United States at Ft. Adams, R. I., 1826, — and upon the Fortifications in New York harbor, 1829‑55.

Died, Feb. 15, 1855, at Ft. Schuyler, N. Y.: Aged 69.
