the West; in the Florida War, 1838‑39; and in removing Seminole Indians to Arkansas, 1839‑40.

Military History. — Served during the Rebellion of the Seceding States, 1861‑62, as

Colonel, 2d Kentucky Cavalry Volunteers, Sep. 8, 1861,
