With 2.8 million people occupying an area of 606 square kilometers — almost twice the size of the entire island of Malta, nearly six times the area of Paris: and that's just within the city limits proper — Chicago is a very big town, and its churches, in my copy of the current Yellow Pages, run to eighteen pages of four columns of fairly fine print: about 2300 of them. The few, then, that you see here are merely those within a few minutes' walk of my house. Though several of them are beautiful, and Guardian Angel and its cemetery are of some historical interest, none is particularly important.
