The building was originally lit by gaslight chandeliers. Some of the original fixtures remain; the others are restorations. This one illumines the chamber of the House of Representatives. |
There are three stories to the building: the ground floor, originally conceived as a crypt; the Executive floor, containing the old Supreme Court chamber and the Governor's office, and the Legislative floor above that with the chambers of the Senate and the House of Representatives and their Library.
