Two carts drawn by horses are following the army, which is supposed to have advanced to a fresh post. The carts have two wheels, of six spokes, and are balanced over the axletrees. Each contains two large casks, hooped in the centre and at each end. The casks are supported by blocks of wood to prevent motion in the carts. The provision train is guarded by soldiers.
