Jesus Rebukes Thomas

That is the identification commonly proposed. Well, it's clearly Jesus, and it's clearly a rebuke: but when Thomas was chastised for not believing in the risen Christ, it happened in front of a dozen people, and Jesus made him touch the spear wound: none of this here.

Jesus often had occasion to rebuke his disciples: the one instance where three of them was involved was when James, Andrew and Peter slept thru his agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.
