From thirty yards away, this edicola doesn't look like much of anything at all. Zoom by in a car, or for that matter walk around just 300 meters from here with our nose in a guidebook, looking at "sights", and we'll never see this beautiful Virgin and Child, good, elegant work of the fifteenth century.
