Interesting, Attractive, and Beautifully Maintained

On the face of it, a rather ordinary if pleasant little country church.
Actually, both the exterior and the interior reserve surprises for the visitor.

	The outer walls of S. Pietro present either mysteries or clues, depending how you look at it, about its past, even back to Roman times. (Among them: what is that 2000‑year‑old inscription doing here, and what does it say?) [ 3 pages, 5 photos; not counting some curious computer enhancements ]
	Moving indoors, we find some unexpectedly attractive frescoes and more Roman stone. [ 6 pages, 7 photos ]
