I barely know the comune of Monteleone, having merely walked thru it once in the rain in April 2004, and most of the churches were closed — including SS. Crocifisso, which should be represented above not by my rather bland exterior photo, but by its splendid late baroque altar: unfortunately the church was in the throes of a massive restoration, which was completed in August of that year, when the church was reopened with solemnity by the Archbishop of Perugia. A very good account of the church, with photographs, is given on Monteleone Online.
