Church of S. Niccolò

Interior. Main altar, Oil on canvas — Our Lady of the Rosary; in the center, The Madonna and Child enthroned: part of the canopy of the throne is a tent supported by two Angels. Beneath, on the L: S. Catherine with a group of women and on the R: S. Dominic with several devout followers; and below, the inscription Pierinus Cesareus Perusinus pingebat 1595. We will remark here that at Caso, a little mountain village not far from Scheggino, this painter Cesarei executed another fresco on the vault of the parish church, which he is said to have signed as well; we didn't have the time to visit it!
