A 270‑page paperback book measuring 16.5 cm × 23.5 cm (6½ʺ by 9 1/4ʺ), in Italian, is a particularly methodical compendium of tested bicycle itineraries.

Illustrated with 100 attractive photographs.

Each itinerary is first carefully laid out on a map; then each day's stage is reported. The stages include an altitude profile of the ride, then a description of the road segments one by one, with precise mileages both for that segment and cumulative. For each segment, the riding information describes terrain type and road quality and includes explanations to make sure you don't get lost, information about camping, train stations and emergency facilities: a magnificent job of organizing this information and presenting it concisely. As for the accuracy of the information, those few roads I personally know agree exactly with my own memories.

The photographs are splendid but just window-dressing; no attempt to integrate them into the text. Also, you should not expect a guidebook. At most, some truly exceptional town will get half a sentence; and no mention is made of little churches or castelli even right on the route: but that's not why you'd be buying this book.

From a bicyclist's standpoint, the only shortcoming is the physical size of the book: it's a bit large. Otherwise, three-star recommendation from me.
