XLVI

Magna quidem non sum, sed inest mihi maxima virtus:
Spiritus est magnus, quamvis sim corpore parvo;
Nec mihi tegmen habet noxam nec culpa ruborem.

Peck:

Not great, the greatest virtue I possess,
And sweet my breath, though smallness I confess,
I neither wound the hand nor bring the heart distress.

Ohl:

To be sure, I am not large, but the greatest virtue in me lies; great is my perfume, though my body be small; no sprig of mine works harm nor blushes for a fault.
