LXII

Stat domus in lymphis, stat in alto gurgite silva
Et manet in mediis undis inmobile robur;
Terra tamen mittit, quod terrae munera praestat.

Peck:

A house on water stands, a wood stands in the stream,
And 'mid the rolling waves abides an oaken beam,
Yet earth sends all the gifts with which her coffers teem.

Ohl:

There stands a grove in the waters, there stands in the stream's depths a wood, and there abides in the midst of the waves the strength of immovable oak. Yet earth gives that which takes upon itself earth's duties.
