St. George and the Dragon

Another gold plaque with cloisonné enamel shows St. George with dragon and the hand of God emerging upper right. Unlike the previous image, God's hand has emerged from its cloud and nearly touches the saint — perhaps because he is further along in the dragon-staking business. Late 15th century (about 5-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches). Georgian State Museum of Art.
