Return to Merida
Built during the reign of Hadrian, Los Milagros (The Miracles) brought water from Proserpina, a reservoir three miles away. One of three aqueducts supplying Mérida, its thirty-eight pillars have alternating layers of granite and brick (opus mixtum).
