Aurelian Wall

These pictures show two of the best preserved sections of the Aurelian Wall: at Porta San Paolo (the ancient Porta Ostiensis, where, at the end of the path, the Pyramid of Cestius can just be discerned) and, a bit farther farther on, at Porta San Sebastiano (Porta Appia). The wall is just outside the boundary of the map on the previous page.

On the Via Appia, just inside the gate, is the Arch of Drusus, an arch of the Aqua Antoniniana aqueduct
