Spello remembers Veterans' Day. The weather is beauti­ful, and I end my stay by finding the Roman aqueduct north of town and even crawling inside it.
November 4
Train trip from Spello to Brussels with a 119‑pound suitcase. Interesting travel companions, among whom a man who looks disturbingly like a statue of Apollo come to life.
