Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, Sep. 1, 1836, to July 1, 1840, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

Second Lieut., 3d Artillery, July 1, 1840.

Served: in garrison at Ft. Columbus, N. Y., 1840; in the Florida War, 1840‑42; in garrison at New Orleans Barracks, La., 1842, — St. Augustine, Fla., 1842, — Ft. McHenry, Md., 1842‑43, — and Ft. Moultrie, S. C.,

(First Lieut., 3d Artillery, June 27, 1843)

1843‑45; in Military Occupation of Texas, 1845‑46; and in the War

(Bvt. Capt., May 9, 1846, for Gallant and Distinguished Services
in the Battles of Palo Alto and Resaca-de‑la‑Palma, Tex.)

with Mexico, 1846‑47, being engaged in the Battle of Palo Alto, May 8,

(Captain, Staff — Asst. Quartermaster, Mar. 3, 1847)

1846, — and as Quartermaster, at Ft. Polk, Point Isabel, Tex., 1847.

Died, Oct. 19, 1847, at Point Isabel, Tex.: Aged 28.
