Served: in garrison at Ft. Severn, Md., 1842‑43, — Ft. Monroe, Va., 1843‑44, 1844‑45, — and Ft. Moultrie, S. C., 1845‑46; on Recruiting (Second Lieut., 3d Artillery, Mar. 1, 1845) service, 1846; in the War with Mexico, 1846‑48, being engaged in the (First Lieut., 3d Artillery, Mar. 3, 1847) Siege of Vera Cruz, Mar. 9‑29, 1847, — Skirmish of Medellin, Mar. 25,
(Bvt. Cap., Mar. 25, 1847, for Gallant and Meritorious Conduct
1847, — Battle of Cerro Gordo, Apr. 17‑18, 1847, — Skirmish of Amazoque, May 14, 1847, — and Attack of the San Antonio Garita of the City of Mexico, Sep. 12‑13, 1847; as Adjutant, 3d Artillery, Dec. 1, 1848, to Oct. 10, 1850, at Regimental headquarters, Ft. Adams, R. I.; and in garrison at Ft. Independence, Mas., 1851, — and Jefferson Barracks, Mo., 1851‑53. Died, Aug. 22, 1853, at Jefferson Barracks, Mo.: Aged 31. |
