Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1838, to July 1, 1842, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 1st Infantry, July 1, 1842. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Crawford, Wis., 1842‑43, — and Ft. Snelling, Min., 1843‑46, 1846‑47; in the War with Mexico, 1847‑48, in p135 garrison at Vera Cruz; as Adjutant, 1st Infantry, Sep. 21, 1848, to Mar. 2, 1853; and on frontier duty at Ft. Brown, Tex., 1848‑50, — Ft. (First Lieut., 1st Infantry, Aug. 31, 1849) Duncan, Tex., 1850, 1850‑51, 1851, — and Ft. Smith, Tex., 1851‑53. Died, Mar. 2, 1853, at Ft. Terrett, Tex.: Aged 31. |
