Served: in garrison at Baton Rouge, La., 1842, — and Jefferson Barracks, Mo., 1843‑44; on frontier duty at Natchitochesº (Camp Salubrity), (Second Lieut., 3d Infantry, Feb. 29, 1844) La., 1844, — and Ft. Jesup (Camp Wilkins), La., 1844‑45; in Military Occupation of Texas, 1845‑46; in the War with Mexico, 1846, being engaged in the Battle of Palo Alto, May 8, 1846, — and Battle of Resaca-de‑la‑Palma, May 9, 1846; on Recruiting service, 1846‑47; in the War (First Lieut., 3d Infantry, Feb. 16, 1847) with Mexico, 1847, being engaged in the Skirmish of Ocalaca, Aug. 16, 1847, — Battle of Contreras, Aug. 19‑20, 1847, — and Battle of Churubusco, Aug. 20, 1847; on sick leave of absence, 1847‑49; in garrison at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., 1849; on frontier duty on March to Santa Fé, 1849, — in Navajo Nation, 1849, — and at Albuquerque, N. M., 1849‑50; and on leave of absence, 1850‑51. Resigned, Sep. 9, 1851. Civil History. — Professor of Mathematics and Philosophy, Kentucky Military Institute, 1851‑53. History since 1853, unknown.
