Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, Sep. 1, 1838, to July 1, 1842, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Bvt. Second Lieut., 8th Infantry, July 1, 1842. Served: in garrison at Ft. Shannon, Fla., 1842, — Cedar Keys, 1842‑43, — and Ft. Brooke, Fla., 1843‑45; on frontier duty at Natchitochesº (Camp (Second Lieut., 4th Infantry, Nov. 29, 1844) Salubrity), La., 1845; in Military Occupation of Texas, 1845; in the War with Mexico, 1846, being engaged in the Battle of Palo Alto, May 8, 1846, — and Battle of Resaca-de‑la‑Palma, May 9, 1846; on sick leave of absence, (First Lieut., 4th Infantry, Feb. 16, 1847) 1846‑48; and in garrison at East Pascagoula, Mis., Nov. 6, 1848. Died at Sea, Oct. 8, 1848: Aged 30. |
