Served: in the Military Occupation of Texas, 1845‑46; in the War with Mexico, 1846‑48, being engaged in the Battle of Palo Alto, May 8, 1846, — Battle of Resaca-de‑la‑Palma, May 9, 1846, — Battle of Monterey, (Second Lieut., 5th Infantry, July 10, 1846) p228 Sep. 21‑23, 1846, — Siege of Vera Cruz, Mar. 9‑29, 1847, — Capture of San Antonio, Aug. 20, 1847, — and Battle of Churubusco, Aug. 20,
(Bvt. First Lieut., Aug. 20, 1847, for Gallant and Meritorious Conduct
1847, where he was severely wounded; and on frontier duty at Ft. Gibson, (First Lieut., 5th Infantry, Dec. 9, 1847) I. T., 1849‑50, — Ft. Towson, I. T., 1850, — San Antonio, Tex., 1850, — Corpus Christi, 1850‑51, — Ft. Smith, Ark., 1851, — and Ft. Washita, I. T., 1851, where, by being thrown from his horse, he was Killed, Aug. 4, 1851: Aged 30. |
