Preble, Me., Dec. 17, 1875, to July 23, 1877, — of troops at Pittsburg, Pa., during railroad disturbances, to Aug. 26, 1877, — and of Ft. Preble, Me., Aug. 28, 1877 to Mar. 9, 1881; in command of regiment and post of Atlanta, Ga., Mar. 13 to Nov. 12, 1881, (Lieut.‑Colonel, 5th Artillery, Jan. 2, 1881) — and of Ft. Hamilton, N. Y., to June 30, 1887; and on leave of absence, (Colonel, 5th Artillery, Sep. 14, 1883) June 30 to Aug. 10, 1887. Retired from Active Service, Aug. 10, 1887, he being 64 Years of Age. Civil History. — Lay Deputy from Florida to the General Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church, at New York city, 1874. Vol. IV Military History. — Retired officer. Died July 15, 1900, at Brooklyn, N. Y.: Aged 77. |
