1851, — Ft. Johnston, N. C., 1851, — Ft. Sumter, S. C., 1852, — Ft. Columbus, N. Y., 1852, — and Ft. Hamilton, N. Y., 1852‑53; on frontier duty at Ft. Brown, Tex., 1853‑56; in garrison at Ft. Columbus, N. Y., 1857; on frontier duty at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., 1857, — and Ft. Kearny, Neb., 1858‑59; on leave of absence, 1859‑60; as Member of a Board for the Trial of Small-arms, Mar. to June, 1860; and on Coast Survey, June 9, 1860, to Feb. 4, 1861.
