Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1844, to July 1, 1848, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Bvt. Second Lieut., 4th Infantry, July 1, 1848. Served: in garrison at Ft. Niagara, N. Y., 1848‑49; on frontier duty (Second Lieut., 2d Infantry, May 7, 1849) at Camp Far West, Cal., 1849‑50, — Expedition to Clear Lake, Cal., 1850, — Camp Far West, Cal., 1850‑52, — and Ft. Reading, Cal., 1852‑53; on Recruiting service, 1854; and in garrison at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., 1854. Died, June 23, 1854, at Jefferson Barracks, Mo.: Aged 26. |
