Professor of Mathematics, Aug. 29, 1851, to July 6, 1852, — and as Asst. Instructor of Infantry Tactics, July 6, 1862, to Sep. 30, 1855;º on (First Lieut., 8th Infantry, Aug. 15, 1855) frontier duty at Ft. Stanton, N. M., 1856‑57, — Ft. Marcy, N. M., 1857, — Escorting Topographical party in New Mexico, 1857, — Ft. Marcy, N. M., 1857‑58, — Ft. Union, N. M., 1858, — Ft. Marcy, N. M., 1858, — Scouting, 1858, being engaged against the Navajo Indians in a Skirmish near San Juan River, N. M., Oct. 6, 1858, — Ft. Defiance, N. M., 1858, — Ft. Marcy, N. M., 1859, — Albuquerque, N. M., 1859, — Ft. Marcy, N. M., 1859, — escorting Exploring Expedition to discover the Junction of the Grand and Green Rivers, 1859, — and Ft. Fillmore, N.
