Martin Philip Parks, Jr.

Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1847, to July 1, 1851, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

Bvt. Second Lieut., 3d Infantry, July 1, 1851.

Served in garrison at Newport Barracks, Ky., 1851‑52, and, while en route to join his Company,

Died, June 5, 1852, near Ft. Atkinson, Kan.: Aged 25.

Buried, Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Fort Leavenworth, KS.
