Thayer's Note:

a As with other Confederate officers, Cullum's Register omits his war record. It seems to have been pretty low-key: according to the Southern Historical Society Papers he was appointed Major in Feb., 1862, and was Assistant Adjutant-General to Brigadier-General Finnegan, commanding the District of Florida. The Find-a‑Grave page linked above has different elements of his career altogether, and his (modern) tombstone, seen there, has Brig.‑General 5th Fla. Brigade Fla. Militia.
