Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1848, to July 1, 1853, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

Bvt. Second Lieut, Mounted Rifle­men, July 1, 1853.

 p531  Served: at the Cavalry School for Practice, Carlisle, Pa., 1853‑55;

(Second Lieut., Mounted Rifle­men, July 20, 1854)

and on frontier duty at Ft. McIntosh, Tex., 1855.

Resigned, May 1, 1856.

Civil History. — Lieut.‑Colonel Georgia Militia, 1856, — and Captain Missouri Militia, 1859‑61. Architect, Savannah, Ga., 1856, — and at St. Louis, Mo., 1857‑61.

Joined in the Rebellion of 1861‑66 against the United States,

and while a Prisoner of War (paroled at the Capitulation of Vicksburg, Mis.),

Died, July 16, 1863, at Raymond, Mis.: Aged 34.
