Ft. Monroe, Va. (Artillery School for Practice), 1859; on Harper's Ferry Expedition to Suppress John Brown's Raid, 1859; in garrison at Ft. Monroe, Va. (Artillery School for Practice), 1859‑60; on leave of absence, 1860; in conducting Recruits to Texas, 1860; in garrison at Ft. Columbus, N. Y., 1860; and on frontier duty at Ft. Vancouver, Wash., 1860‑61.

Died, May 17, 1861, at Benicia, Cal.: Aged 28.
