Born Dec. 7, 1833. Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1853, to July 1, 1857, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Bvt. Second Lieut. of Cavalry, July 1, 1857. Served: at the Cavalry School for Practice, Carlisle, Pa., 1857‑58; on frontier duty on Utah Expedition, 1858, — Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., 1858, (Second Lieut., 1st Cavalry, July 11, 1858) — Ft. Smith, Ark., 1858‑59, — March to Ft. Arbuckle, I. T., 1859‑60. Kiowa and Comanche Expedition, 1860, being engaged in several Skirmishes, June to Sep., 1860, — and Ft. Arbuckle, I. T., 1860; and on leave of absence, 1860‑61. Resigned, May 1, 1861. Joined in the Rebellion of 1861‑66 against the United States.a Died, Feb. 18, 1865, at New Liberty, Ky.: Aged 31. Buried, New Liberty International Order of Foresters Cemetery, New Liberty, KY. |
a As with other Confederate officers, Cullum's Register omits his war record. It may have been unusually obscure: I've been unable to find any trace of him during the war.
