Robert Houston Anderson: Born Oct. 1, 1835, Savannah, GA.

Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1853, to July 1, 1857, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

Bvt. Second Lieut. of Infantry, July 1, 1857.

Served: in garrison at Ft. Columbus, N. Y., 1857‑58; on frontier duty

(Second Lieut., 9th Infantry, Dec. 29, 1857)

at Ft. Walla Walla, Wash., 1858‑61; and on leave of absence, 1861.

Resigned, May 17, 1861.

Civil History. — Chief of Police, Savannah, Ga., 1867‑88. Member of the Board of Visitors to the U. S. Military Academy, 1879 and 1887.

Died, Feb. 8, 1888, at Savannah, Ga.: Aged 52.

Buried, Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, GA.
