Indians, 1860, — Ft. Larned, Neb., 1860‑61, — and Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., 1861; and on leave of absence, 1861.

Resigned, May 3, 1861.

Joined in the Rebellion of 1861‑66 against the United States.​a

Died, June 9, 1863, near Culpeper C. H., Va.: Aged 28.

Buried, Arrington Cemetery, Nashville, NC.


Thayer's Note:

a As with other Confederate officers, Cullum's Register omits his war record: according to the Southern Historical Society Papers he commanded the 12th North Carolina Infantry, with the rank of Colonel.
