Served during the Rebellion of the Seceding States, 1861‑62: in Operations

(First Lieut., 16th Infantry, May 14, 1861)

in New Mexico, May, 1861, to Feb., 1862, being engaged in the

(Captain, 16th Infantry, Oct. 24, 1861)

Battle of Valverde, Feb. 21, 1862.

Killed, Feb. 21, 1862, at the Battle of Valverde, N. M.: Aged 26.
